Mary A. Collins was born in England to Mr. and Mrs. James Willis on 12 January 1857. The family moved to Michigan in ca. 1860, then to Central City, Colorado in 1869. They soon moved to South Boulder canyon, where they homesteaded part of what became the Walker ranch. In 1877, Mary married James Collins, who likewise was a native of England. He took up mining in Caribou, Colorado, where three of their four children were born: Mrs. Thomas Barry, Ray and James. From the description of ...
